How are Aluminum Die Castings Made?
The aluminum casting dies that are created using hardened tool steel must be made in at least two sections so that castings can be removed. The aluminum die casting process is capable of producing tens of thousands of aluminum castings in quick succession. The dies are firmly mounted in the die casting machine. The fixed half die is stationary. The other one, injector die half, is movable. Aluminum casting dies can be simple or complicated, with movable slides, cores or other parts, depending on the complexity of the casting. To begin the die casting process, the two die halves are clamped together by casting machine. High temperature liquid aluminum alloy is injected into the die cavity and rapidly solidified. Then the movable die half is opened and the aluminum casting is ejected.

Benefits of Die Cast base and cover of Heat Sinks
Die Cast Heat Sinks are produced in near net shape, require little to no additional assembly or machining, and can range in complexity. Die cast heat sinks are popular in LED and 5G markets due to their unique shape and weight requirements as well as high volume production needs.
1. Produce complex 3D shapes that are not possible in extrusion or forging
2. Heat sink, frame, housing, enclosure and fastening elements can be combined in a single casting
3. Holes can be cored in die casting
4. High production rate and low cost
5. Tight tolerances
6. Dimensionally stable
7. Secondary machining not required
Provide exceptionally flat surfaces (good for the contact between heat sink and source)
Corrosion resistance rates from good to high.
Die Casting Process FAQs
1.Can you help us to design or improve design for my product ?
We have a professional engineering team to help our customers to create their product or improve their design. We need sufficient communication before design to understand your intention.
2.How to get a quotation ?
Please send us 3D drawings in IGS,DWG, STEP file, etc. and 2D drawings for tolerance request. Our team will check all your requirements of quote ,will offer in 1-2 days .
3.Can you do assembly and customized package ?
Yes, we have assembly line, so you can finish the production line of your product as the last step in our factory.
4.Do you provide free samples before production ?And How many ?
We offer free T1 samples 1-5pcs, if customers need more samples then we will charge of extra samples .
5.When will you ship the T1 samples ?
It will takes 35-60 work days for the die casting mold, then we will send you T1 sample for approval. And 15-30 business days for mass production.
6.How to ship ?
The free samples and small volume parts are usually sent by FEDEX,UPS,DHL etc.
